What this series showed us is that Luka will never reach LeBron's level. He could have all the skill in the world, but his athleticism holds him back, his defense has been pretty bad these last 2 games. Peak LeBron was all over the court defensively and guarding multiple positions.

It was more Carlisle's dismal end game coaching than anything else although the players were definitely rattled.

Denver would be tough, Celtics would struggle vs Joker. Minnie would get beat because they're stupid. A dumb team isn't beating the Celtics in a series. I still can't believe they let Doncic take a nap in the corner on defense all game long.

Crazy how Brown has snatched the tiara from Tatum in the playoffs. Conference Finals MVP and now the Finals MVP!

Huge difference!
2008 Celtics beat the Reigning Season MVP
2008 Celtics had Reigning DPOY
2008 Celtics were the underdog despite HCA
2024 Celtics-Mavs has nothing!.
reason why it was important 2024 twolves made it to this finals because of atleast reigning DPOY.

Peep my posts. I even said in 6 because I figured the nba would step in plus the Mavs could get hot. Still, i could not imagine a scenario where they didn’t clean up. I think wolves or denver would have been a problem. I could see arguments for them, but not dal. Luka injured, too. Ky and Luka had to go 40 40 to get a win, and real talk they might...

Where is the poll?
'08 Celtics had a historic defense and were obviously a great team, but their playoff struggles that year often get overlooked. A 37 win team took them to 7 games, LeBron with bums also took them to 7. People just remember how they embarrassed the Lakers in that closeout game 6.
With everyone healthy I probably lean...

2024 Boston. Just a more complete team.

I think Boston is still not a great clutch team because they aren't good when they need to execute methodically because their 2 stars aren't creative playmakers. But they are great at executing in free flowing play. And Dallas is a great clutch team simply because they have that creativity. But none of that matters when you're overmatched.

Best post in the thread. Goalposts have never shifted as much as they have during Lebrons time. His longevity is a big deal, If it was Mj with that sort of longevity it would be the best shit ever. However since he's not included in that category it must not be that good right? He's got the most buckets in the history of planet earth. Let that...

Do we assume healthy Porzingis?

My point is its because of guys like White and not because of the "growth" or emotional maturity of guys like Tatum and Brown. They are what they are for the most part.
Btw...one more thing.
Porzingas!

This.
They definitely had talent and played their asses off. Got the most out of their group one could expect. Just couldnt get out of their own way at the end of games vs the Celtics. But I respect the heart they showed.

Might as well get this thread up early.
2024 Boston:
- 64-18 in the regular season; 10.74 SRS; +11.6 Net Rtg
- 15-2 in the playoffs *one more win to go*
- 79-20 combined record (79.8% W/L)
2008 Boston:
- 66-16 in the regular season; 9.3 SRS; +11.2 Net Rtg
- 16-10 in the playoffs

I prefer the guy that turns a franchise that never won into a dynasty without having to change teams. Lebron stacked the deck and still couldn't do that.

Coughing up a 21 point lead tonight would say otherwise...but again guys like White and Holiday have expanded the Celtics margin for error so greatly that they can still make enough plays offensively and defensively to secure a win. There is nobody in prior years making timely stops like White or knocking down backbreaker 3s like White. Holiday...

Boston had 91 pts at end of 3rd quarter
Boston choked too in 4th Quarter.
A team led by slo mo luka and his conditioning and tub of lard body can never take advantage of it.

thats because no team ever takes Lebron and his in-season tournament trophies seriously.
Only LAL and lebron are happy with mini-championship called in-season.

I had Celtics in 6 but that was because I was expecting them to choke way more than they have been. They are much more mentally composed than in previous years.

this is another team thats never winning a ring.
Offense win you games.
Defense win you championships.
Celtics blew 21 pts lead on road but their defense held it enough and showed up.
