And they still pale in comparison to the spurs and warriors teams that the mighty king faced in the finals.

Wonder why this thread isn’t deleted or OP isn’t banned for repeating a generic thread for the 300th time. Care to shed some light?

The 98' Jazz were the longest-standing organic juggernaut in history and the 90's West had the most long-standing organic juggernauts ever.... These organic juggernauts traded turns making the Finals and the team that won the West was a battle-tested juggernaut that was having their banner year - a freight train - that's what MJ beat 6 times in...

His entire argument for Ingram being more skilled is he's better at midrange. Who cares if Tatum is better at the rim and from 3, midrange is all that matters for skillzzzz. Classic Kobe stan "logic"

Just give it up, pops. You don't see me trying to defend LeBron for 2011. Just admit your hero choked, it happens. Every player has choked.

Speaking of the 98 jazz that scored 54 points in the finals, they also managed to sweep your true idol kobe in the preceding west finals round. :kobe:

They're facts because anyone that actually played basketball knows them to be tenets of the game - long-standing common knowledge among people that play or coach.. anyone that questions these common tenets and bball101 is exposed as a nascent fan

It should be noted that the 98' Jazz were far superior to the 11' Mavs and actually destroyed another team in the 98' Playoffs that prevented Lebron's 3-peat - the Popovich/Duncan Spurs... So MJ is 3-peating against better comp - he beat 3 long-standing organic juggernauts to 3-peat and then beat another 3 to 3-peat again.. 90's West had goat...

It's funny how fraud works.. In this case, many fans have been led to believe that the biggest loser in NBA history is infact the greatest player ever... Indeed, the best frauds are this blatant... Madoff, Theranos, and Klutch Sports' manufactured GOAT debate - equally blatant frauds where people were literally blind to the obvious.. it's quite...

* 14' Spurs destroyed the Heat with no Spur producing much at all.
* 07' Spurs were led by Tony Parker
* 11' Mavs beat the Heat with a 1-man team (Jason Terry as their 2nd best player)
It doesn't take much to beat the worst type of Finals team that the NBA has ever produced - extremely ball-dominant teams like Luka and Lebron have...

Strictly from a scoring perspective? Probably could look at Bird in 81. I can't remember if his efficiency was better but I know he had several low scoring games while still winning the chip.

Op, eventually it's going to be comically clear to everyone that most things in basketball aren't a big deal unless it happens to/with/for Lebron. Just wait till he retires lol.

Anybody else ever figure out why MJ is the only guy that gets to use unconfirmable narratives like this as support for arguments. Most of the debates with him are full of opinion pieces masquerading as facts.
He likely said 97 because he wasn't that good in the 96 finals in comparison.

I am assuming that Tatum is such an effective player due to his basketball skills. I guess you think he leads the Celtics in points rebounds and assists due to his hairline?
You forgot to mention that Ingram's house rains indoors.

Yea, but this wasn't the norm is my point. Reggie was 37, sure, but he still shot 36% during the regular season. And then the next season, at age 38, he shot 40%.
Using Curry is a bad example because he's simply the greatest shooter of all time. If people were trying to say Ray > Steph, then you'd have a point. But no one says that.
I also...

I picked Mavs to win Game 2......serously!
I just thought Luka and Kyrie will do WCF and both give you near 30+ pts game.
Celtics are physical defensively. they are really quick on defenses too.
That porzingis guy is making the difference defensively around rim.
It maybe over in 5 games.
