capitalists still mad that money stopped being printed. "I don't care about what's in your bag, it's about how many of your bags can you sell."

Hard to gauge this. Celtics this playoff pretty much perform on par with a relatively lowly Indy WITHOUT Haliburton when they should've blown them out every game on paper.
Last season Jamaal Murray was pretty much a superstar in the playoff when he should've been much worse on paper.

That is dishonest. It absolutely factors into the rankings how a champion fared the year(s) after. First time champions are looked upon more favorably when we can forecast more titles and less favorably when it does not work out that way.

I think Chewbecca would be okay with it too. He would gladly hand Trump a knife and get down in front of Trump to stab him. In his will, he would have "Please pardon my Donald Trump!" :lol

BTW, isn't it crazy how most of this forum went from picking the Mavs to beat the Celtics to now threads being made on how the Celtics are a top 3 team in the last 20 years? :oldlol:

They were just waiting to play their big card, JJ Hickson in a few years. He was so great they turned down Amare a few years after this.:facepalm
Was this before or after the Deng veto? Can't remember.

It's not really a serious counter offer. More like a polite rejection. It's like "geez we can't trade Bron for anyone but you're welcome if there's anyone else you'd like."

People are going to bring up their astonishingly easy road to the Finals, but from a pure talent perspective, right now, I think you could argue them over anybody with the exception of the KD Warriors over the last 20 years. I would probably rank them.
2017 Warriors
2024 Celtics
2023 Nuggets
2014 Spurs
2019 Raptors
Nuggets definitely get...

Tough to tell. Their competition overall in the playoffs has been incredibly weak. I would have loved to see them play Denver to get a better idea of their strength.
It's just tough to gauge the true strength of this team when the margin of error is this big vs the competition they've faced.
I'd say probably not as good as the historic...

So says the LA times and others. Not news. It’s well known. Cavs said no.
But they also made a counter offer. For Kobe. With assets that were not LeBron James on the 2007 Cavs.
It has to be the worst counter offer in the history of sports right?
Can you imagine a trade offer ever being made that was more laughable than who and whatever...

What happens next year doesn't matter in regards to this 2024 Celtics team and where they rank amongst the last 20 championship teams.

so people understand how stacked this Celtics team is in comparison to the Mavs. they haven't ran any motion offense since that's generally been Horford's role. you can somewhat call it the triangle off ball movement, if any time, 3 players can be moving without the ball in order to get a better shot selection/rebounding position, they'd be able...

Tatum is letting the game come to him. A big reason they lost to Miami last season was him and Brown burned so many possessions where they were the only ones to touch the ball.
As long as those two are not forcing the issue it wipes away a lot of value Jones Jr provides on defense. When the C's do not like the matchup they do not have to run...

Game 3- Luka has the f*ck you game to Jason Kidd, out there directing traffic and getting his teammates involved, while everytime passing by the Mavs bench mentally giving the 'too small' gesture to Kidd. Mavs loses as they get beat on 2nd chance opportunities, while Kidd publicly admits he has made 0 defensive adjustments for his team since this...

they haven't put Tatum in the 5 yet against this small line up of Mavs, this will put the Mavs in a position to either let Bostons back court to go up against Mavs front court, or dare White/Horford to shoot, only once you do that, the Celtics bench will just torch you. Because what the analyst has failed to put into words, is that Tatum is the...

Last 20 years?
Probably behind 2017 Warriors & 2013 Heat. 2014 Spurs & 2008 Celtics are debatable. That 2013 Miami Heat team was pretty nasty when they were all healthy, won 27 straight games at one point, but they kinda struggled in the playoffs because of Wade's injury.

They will have completed one of the most dominant seasons of all time. 64 win regular season, only 2 losses so far in the playoffs and a potential sweep in the finals.
78-20 overall currently.
Where do they rank of the last 20 years?
Can I make the argument they're the second best TEAM behind the 2017 Durant Warriors?

2008 vs Cavs 32.8 FG% 16.7 3Pt%

2010 vs Lakers (minus game 2) 31.4 FG% 13.3 3pt%

Game 3 - Luka grimaces more in game 3 while playing his worst defense of the series but he doesn't care because he gets 30/10/7 (with 5 TOs). Kyrie plays below average. Brown has a very good game visibly outplaying Tatum. KP spends most of the game on the bench. Mavs lose by 20 but the "aw poor Luka!" narrative has been established. He wins MVP...
