Double post but i never say something is a sure thing, but i repeat, thinking about it, i just could not conceive of a way. It was really that serious for me. Like a 95-98% chance. I even said i didn’t think porzingis mattered. Sure you can say it was 5050, but i dunno, man, if you really think about it and look at the teams, it’s hard to see how...

The 4 and 5 are the most important positions to decide this. I'd rather sub in Raptors Gasol for Perkins than sub prime Deron Williams for 08 Rondo. For this matchup at least.

Luka fouling out is a really low IQ play. I'm honestly disappointed in him. He should have been nowhere close to Brown.

There was nothing Minnesota could have done to attack him. What makes Boston different from every other team in the league is there's no one you can help off of.

This is how i feel. Finals always gets me wanting to talk bball. Rip my thumbs cuz im writing on ipad. First off somewhat irrelevantly, i don’t know that 38 year old big al moves better than gobert, but he is so much better at cutting things off. In no galaxy down 2 would al ever let luka get a 3. Minny has conley who is an og. If ant could...

Doc rivers led that 08 team but they were also coming off a 24-win season the previous year. That 42-win turnaround was nothing short of outstanding but like you said, they've had some massive struggles in the postseason. If thibs wasn't involved in their coaching staff, maybe they would have lost along the way.

Thats fine, and as I said both teams had cases to be made. My point is everyone had a 50-50 chance of being right just by registering a vote. Of course everyone who picked Boston is gonna look like their reasons were right at this point. That doesnt mean the series COULDNT have gone the other way. If it was that foregone a conclusion everyone...

Not to mention Rondo was really a year or two away from arriving as a player. 2010 Rondo with Marc Gasol on that '08 squad wouldn't be fair.

Facts. That 2013 team is one of only four championship teams in NBA history to be outrebounded on average. And of those four, they were by far the worst of the bunch, literally dead last in rebounding. 30th out of 30 teams. The fact that their season changed once they acquired Chris Andersen is proof of how huge an issue their lack of bigs...

Kendrick Perkins makes 2024 an easy choice for me. You need a team with a strong 4 AND 5 to beat this team. Pound them inside. Bully ball KP and achy knee Horford. Swap Kendrick Perkins with prime-ish Marc Gasol and it easily goes the other way imo. KG and Marc would wear them down inside on both ends.

What this series showed us is that Luka will never reach LeBron's level. He could have all the skill in the world, but his athleticism holds him back, his defense has been pretty bad these last 2 games. Peak LeBron was all over the court defensively and guarding multiple positions.

Denver would be tough, Celtics would struggle vs Joker. Minnie would get beat because they're stupid. A dumb team isn't beating the Celtics in a series. I still can't believe they let Doncic take a nap in the corner on defense all game long.

Peep my posts. I even said in 6 because I figured the nba would step in plus the Mavs could get hot. Still, i could not imagine a scenario where they didn’t clean up. I think wolves or denver would have been a problem. I could see arguments for them, but not dal. Luka injured, too. Ky and Luka had to go 40 40 to get a win, and real talk they might...

Where is the poll? '08 Celtics had a historic defense and were obviously a great team, but their playoff struggles that year often get overlooked. A 37 win team took them to 7 games, LeBron with bums also took them to 7. People just remember how they embarrassed the Lakers in that closeout game 6. With everyone healthy I probably lean...

I think Boston is still not a great clutch team because they aren't good when they need to execute methodically because their 2 stars aren't creative playmakers. But they are great at executing in free flowing play. And Dallas is a great clutch team simply because they have that creativity. But none of that matters when you're overmatched. ...

Best post in the thread. Goalposts have never shifted as much as they have during Lebrons time. His longevity is a big deal, If it was Mj with that sort of longevity it would be the best shit ever. However since he's not included in that category it must not be that good right? He's got the most buckets in the history of planet earth. Let that...

My point is its because of guys like White and not because of the "growth" or emotional maturity of guys like Tatum and Brown. They are what they are for the most part. Btw...one more thing. Porzingas!

Coughing up a 21 point lead tonight would say otherwise...but again guys like White and Holiday have expanded the Celtics margin for error so greatly that they can still make enough plays offensively and defensively to secure a win. There is nobody in prior years making timely stops like White or knocking down backbreaker 3s like White. Holiday...
