Mike D’Antoni and Ime Udoka are finalizing deals to become assistant coaches under Steve Nash with the Brooklyn Nets, sources tell ESPN. Together, D’Antoni and Nash were the architects of the Seven Seconds or Less Offense with the Phoenix Suns in the mid-2000’s.

We've done it before, remember Lawrence Frank becoming Jason Kidd's assistant coach in 2013, although it didnt work out well 'cause Kidd aint as good a coach as he was as a player, and in the end Frank became the scapegoat and took the blame for the team's early struggles. Lets see how it works out for Nash this time, I think they will do much better.

In that system Irving should be an MVP candidate. The only things I could see derailing regular season greatness are injury and weird personalities.

Irving has no chance of being a MVP candidate with Durant there.

Agree. It's going to be an interesting mix. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Steve Nash and Mike D'Antoni.

Durant is coming off an achilles tear and may not be the same. Meanwhile Nash and Harden had MVP seasons in this system. Before they played for D'Antoni they didn't look to be superior to Irving.

Irving is probably going to miss at least 20 games. The guy can't ever stay healthy.

Harden was 2nd in MVP voting and averaged 29/8/6 before D'Antoni.
You should ban yourself for that take.

I did forget about that season, my mistake. Still, for the 20 games he managed to play Irving did 27 and 6. If whatever it is in his head that has made Irving so unhappy before is controlled he should have a big year.

Nash did well with Dallas before playing for D'Antoni. And Nash played excellently after D'antoni went to NY as well.
Irving does not compare favorably to Harden or Nash in any sense at all.

That's pretty cool.
And Amare assistant as well.
Where's Boris Diaw and Shawn Marion at? :D
