Default If Patrick Ewing have Jalen Brunson as his 2nd scoring option instead of John Starks

The New York Knicks would have won an NBA championship in the 1990's

    John Grocery Bagger Starks

That was MJ's #1 direct competiton at Shooting Guard

Meanwhile LeBron faced SF like PG13, Kawhi, Melo, Butler, Durant.

MJ faced Terry Porter and John Fuxxing Starks

    ITS OVER

Which team would they have beaten from 1990-99? Badboys Pistons? Jordan/Pip? Peak Olajuwon? Spurs Twin Towers?

John Starks was really good. Troll him all you like, he made the most of his potential. He is revered and still a fan favorite, which is why he's going to road playoff games. That being said, Brunson is a superstar. With Ewing, who knows, the sky is the limit.

    Yep.

Starks was a great player, career playoff 3-point average of 37% on 5 attempts. That's a lot in the 90s.

All-Star, perennial 6-moy candidate, even was on an all defensive team.

Not to forget he was a high flyer and could dunk. He was a very exciting player.

Jalen Brunson would be the 1st option. Pat the second option.

This one, unless you want to pretend Starks being replaced by a much better player doesn't swing a razor thin 7 game series.

Brunson is clearly way better than Starks. They would've easily won in 1994 with that swap. And it's not even close.

Guys like Shaq/Penny, Stockton/Malone, Barkley/KJ, Kemp/Payton etc never won in that time frame but Ewing/Brunson would be enough to win it all?

Huh To be frank that's some serious ass backwards logic. Ewing with Starks was literally a play away from winning, why are you acting so surprised that Brunson in his place couldn't have done it? So weird

Because they wouldnt have the same results and identity playing with Brunson. They would be a way different team without the same defensive edge that got them to the finals. Brunson wouldnt even have the same impact playing with 90s pace and rules.

The "Starks worked in a grocery store" shit is dumb and misleading, he was a pretty good college basketball player and got kicked out of college for allegedly stealing someone's stereo and then smoking pot so that was the reason he was bagging groceries for a couple of months, not because he was some stiff that couldn't play, he did some dumb things in college.

Starks had game, dude posterized Hakeem Olajuwon, everyone talks about the dunk in the Bulls game, but that IMO was a better dunk, just straight up dunked on Hakeem directly.

It's not like Brunson is some average, mid-tier player either in the modern game (ie: take any average guy from today and give him to Ewing and instant championship!) ... Brunson was 4th in NBA scoring this season, higher than Durant and Tatum and Curry and LeBron. In the playoffs he's 2nd in league scoring at 33 ppg only behind Embiid.

Brunson is a top end player in today's game. Maybe the guy is just really that good. For all the talk about this playoffs being a coming out party for Anthony Edwards as a superstar, Brunson has has a higher PPG in both the regular season and playoffs.

They still would not have won in the 90s becaused you already putted many better teammates in 90s Utah Jazz. Utah Jazz wins all championship if they had Pippen.
