The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has waived Othella Harrington. The 6-9, 235-pound forward spent the last two seasons with the Bulls after joining Chicago via trade with the New York Knicks on August 5, 2004.

Harrington has appeared in 142 games, including 51 starts, with the Bulls during his two-year stint in the Windy City and averaged 6.4 ppg and 3.1 rpg in 14.8 mpg and shot .505 from the floor and .680 from the free throw line.

A 10-year NBA veteran from Georgetown, Harrington has appeared in 661 career games, including 263 starts, and holds career averages of 7.7 ppg and 4.6 rpg in 20.5 mpg. He has shot .507 from the field and .739 from the free throw line.

InsideHoops.com Editor Says: The Bulls want Chris Wilcox. They also wouldn't mind Kevin Garnett. KG isn't likely right now, but Wilcox is possible, and Chicago's going for it. And even if they don't get any new players, Harrington's services were no longer needed. I think Othella can find a job with a new team, for a very cheap contract lasting at most a year or two.
