Heat sign Stephane Lasme to 10-day contractThe Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed forward Stephane Lasme to a 10-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lasme, a 6’8”, 215-pound forward, has appeared in 37 games (14 starts) with the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League averaging 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.57 blocks while shooting 52 percent from the field in 29.0 minutes of action. He leads the team in rebounds (276) and blocks (95) and is second in minutes played (1,072), field goals made (140), free throws made (113) and steals (38).

Lasme was originally drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the 46th pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. He appeared in one game for the Warriors before being waived and signed by the Los Angeles Defenders. Lasme played four seasons at the University of Massachusetts, appearing in 118 career games (90 starts) and averaged 8.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.38 blocks while shooting 59.5 percent from the field. He finished as UMass’ all-time career leader in blocks (399), passing Marcus Camby. He also became only the third player in NCAA history to record four triple-doubles during a single season (2006-07), joining Jason Kidd and Michael Anderson.

After being granted a special roster exemption by the NBA, the HEAT roster currently stands at 16.

Lasme will wear number 45.
