The New Jersey Nets have promoted Ryan Krueger to assistant coach, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Krueger joins Bill Cartwright, Tom Barrise and Pat Sullivan as a member of Head Coach Lawrence Frank’s staff. In addition, the Nets have promoted Pete Williams to video coordinator and Matt Reicher to assistant athletic trainer/equipment manager.

“We are very pleased with Ryan’s development,” said Thorn. “His basketball knowledge and work ethic have had a positive impact on both the players and the coaching staff, and he is very deserving of this promotion.”

Krueger, entering his fourth season with the Nets, served as video coordinator for the past two seasons, and was the team’s assistant video coordinator during the 2003-04 campaign. He began his coaching career in 2000, spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Maine Central Institute and one season as a graduate assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University. Krueger participated in the NBA’s “Basketball Without Borders” program in Vilnius, Lithuania this past summer and has authored two “Yellow Brick Basketball” drill books, with proceeds of the books benefiting the “Coaches vs. Cancer Fund”.

Originally from Rockville, MD, Krueger graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He currently resides in Clifton, NJ.

Williams, in his third season with the Nets, spent two seasons as the team’s assistant video coordinator. A 2000 graduate of Fairfield University, Williams was a member of the 1996-97 MAAC championship team which made an appearance in the 1997 NCAA Tournament. Originally from Rutherford, NJ, Williams currently resides in Hoboken, NJ.

Reicher began his Nets career as a ballboy at Nets’ home games in 1997. Following eight seasons working the Nets locker room, Reicher served as the team’s assistant equipment manager in 2005-06. He is a 2005 graduate of Dominican College and is a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist. Reicher currently resides in New City, NY.
