Coinciding with the start of the 2006-07 New York Knicks and Rangers seasons, Madison Square Garden introduces Madison Square Garden Collectibles, a distinctive combination of team memorabilia available exclusively in-arena, it was announced today. Madison Square Garden Collectibles will be facilitated through Frameworth, innovators in the memorabilia business for over 15 years.

The all-encompassing Madison Square Garden Collectibles will feature an assortment of game-used jerseys and equipment from the Knicks, Rangers and Liberty, as well as from Garden boxing events, in addition to photographs, autographed items and limited edition historical pieces. As the Collectibles division expands, items from areas within the Garden will be available, allowing fans to own pieces of the legendary venue.

"Madison Square Garden, New York’s premier sports and entertainment company, is entering a new phase in its history -- we are aggressively pursuing opportunities that grow our business in new ways," said Hank J. Ratner, vice chairman, Madison Square Garden. "Whether we are developing a new business that takes advantage of the on-going history made in our arena each and every game, or developing new partnerships and platforms that extend our brands and expands our presence in sports and entertainment, Madison Square Garden is 'open for business,' and entering a period of unprecedented growth."

The collection, which ranges in price from $10 to $1,000 and higher, will showcase a constantly changing inventory of items. Fans will have ongoing access to blocks of the game-used Madison Square Garden basketball court, pieces of Rangers game-used nets and sticks, game pucks from goals scored by the Rangers on home ice, including, for example, the first puck scored by Jaromir Jagr as captain on Opening Night 2006. The Madison Square Garden Collectibles “He Shoots…He Scores” puck series will commemorate pucks scored during Rangers home games in a specially framed presentation.

"Madison Square Garden is the preeminent venue for sports," said Steve Mills, president and coo of MSG Sports. "We are pleased to provide our fans with the opportunity to take home one-of-a-kind memories created right here on the court, ice and in the boxing ring through Madison Square Garden Collectibles; we expect the diverse offerings, available at various price points, to be extremely popular."

Rangers fans will also have the opportunity to own the 50 Goal Club framed trio of photographs of Vic Hadfield, Jaromir Jagr and Adam Graves. To complete the sports Collectibles line, there will be special items that the Garden has saved for decades, such as autographed pieces of the Knicks championship team basketball courts and autographed framed photos of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier from their historic bout in 1971.

“We are excited to be working with Madison Square Garden to explore and develop collectibles that capture the imagination in new ways,” said Brian Ehrenworth, president of Frameworth. “Working with the World’s Most Famous Arena allows us to take the memorabilia industry to a whole new level and offer items that have never before been available.”

Madison Square Garden Collectibles are available at the Garden’s Double Teamed store and in the Garden mall area merchandise stands.
