It appears that the 2007 Summer Pro League has no NBA teams in it, but there are plenty of former and current NBA, D-League, CBA, ABA and overseas pro players involve, making the SPL a league worth following.

When: July 8-15
Where: Pyramid in Long Beach (near Los Angeles) California

The Southern California Summer Pro League ("SPL") is entering its 38th year as the premier summer showcase for basketball's most competitive teams and showmen outside of NBA summer leagues. Every NBA team has participated in the SPL throughout its unprecedented history. Over 800 current and former NBA players have participated in the League.

2006 SUMMER PRO LEAGUE GAME RESULTS

July 12

Lakers 99, Mavericks 87: In the win for Los Angeles, Kasib Powell shot 8-of-11 for 18 points and 5 rebounds. Devin Green had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Marcus Slaughter shot 7-of-9 for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Doron Perkins shot well for 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals... In the loss for Dallas, Yuta Tabuse had 16 points and 7 assists, plus 2 steals.

July 11

Lakers 87, Grizzlies 84: In the win for Los Angeles, center Andrew Bynum erupted for 8-of-11 shooting, getting 24 points and 7 rebounds. Rookie Jordan Farmar shot 7-of-10 for 21 points and 5 assists. No one else scored in double digits. Marcus Douthit grabbed 8 boards. In the loss for Memphis, Hakim Warrick shot 9-of-14 for 24 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Tarence Kinsey scored 11. Junior Harrington dished 6 assists.

July 10

Grizzlies 113, Mavericks 82: In the win for Memphis, Hakim Warrick shot 10-of-18 for 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Tarence Kinsey shot 7-of-10 for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Andreas Glyniad went 5-of-9 for 16 points and 8 rebounds, plus 3 blocks. Antony Roberson took 14 shots to get his 16 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Lawrence Roberts had 12 with 9 boards. In the loss for Dallas, Bingo Merriex had 13 with 11 rebounds. David Noel had 10 with 10 rebounds. DeAngelo Collins shot 1-for-6 and committed a ton of fouls and turnovers.

July 9

Lakers 97, Mavericks 69: Jordan Farmer kept it going for the Lakers, shooting 5-of-8 for 13 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Von Wafer led the Lakers with 18 points, plus 3 steals. Kiddie-aged center Andrew Bynum took 12 shots for 14 points and 15 rebounds. Devin Green took 12 shots for 12 points and 5 rebounds. Marcus Douthit had 4 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. In the loss for Dallas, Ryan Forehan-Kelly shot 6-of-12 for 16 points and 5 rebounds. DeAngelo Collins (remember him?) took 7 shots for 6 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.

July 8

Grizzlies 89, Lakers 87: In the win for Memphis Lawrence Roberts shot 6-of-12 for 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 steals. Junior Harrington had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. In the loss, Jordan Farmar shot 5-of-9 for 17 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Danilo Pinnock shot 6-of-9 for 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Marcus Douhit had 14 points with 7 rebounds.
