Amare Stoudemire interviewAnd just like that, Amare Stoudemire is back on the shelf.

Just three games into his comeback after serious knee surgery, the Phoenix Suns superstar may be done for the season. And there's a good chance that it's a wise move. He's not moving well, looking awkward, slow and uncomfortable on the floor.

Here's what Stoudemire had to say to InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner and an Arizona Republic reporter after the Monday, March 27 Suns-Nets game in New Jersey:

Question: So how are you feeling?

Amare Stoudemire: I feel OK. That's pretty much about it.

Question: Have they told you, I assume, that it'll take a while for you to feel like your old monster self?

Stoudemire: Yeah, well, hope it doesn't take too long.

Question: It looked rough for you out there today.

Stoudemire: Yeah, it was pretty rough. Pain and stiffness. It was pretty rough out there.

Question: Just couldn't get loose?

Stoudemire: I couldn't get loose, for shootaround, or practice yesterday, or today for the game. It's pretty tough.

Question: Are you worried at all about what this means? Or, bad couple of days?

Stoudemire: I'm thinking it's supposed to be getting better and better each day, and it's not. It's the opposite. So I'm going to see how I feel tomorrow... It's pretty tough for both knees right now. I really want to take my time and get back out there... I felt a little pain out there. It's not a feeling I want to feel.

Question: With the running, jumping?

Stoudemire: Running, jumping. Both.

It's likely that Stoudemire won't play again this season. The Suns have done well without him and should continue on that path, and work him back into the mix next season.
