InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner recently met with Sacramento Kings coach Rick Adelman and star Chris Webber and dicussed the team, with specific focus on Webber's return.

INSIDEHOOPS.COM AND RICK ADELMAN

InsideHoops.com: Talk about working Chris Webber back into the mix.

Rick Adelman: We're just trying to do it game by game. Every game is different. What we're trying to do is get better each time and by April we'll know where we are with Chris and who can play with him. It's a situation where you have to play him, and you have to let him play through things.

InsideHoops.com: Was there the thought of working Webber in slowly, into what the team was already doing, vs. making him a full focal point pretty immediately? The team was doing great, and with his return obviously changes get made as far as minutes and some positioning.

Rick Adelman: We haven't changed anything since Chris has been back. We run the same stuff, it's the same thing. There hasn't been any change in philosophy or anything. He's one of our main guys. He was hurt, and we're going to run the same stuff with Chris as without him. But it is an adjustment. It is an adjustment because he's trying to work himself through some things and we're trying to get used to playing with him.

INSIDEHOOPS.COM AND CHRIS WEBBER

InsideHoops.com: Talk about fitting into the team again. The team is loaded with talent, including you.

Chris Webber: I've been here six years, I don't have to fit in. And I'm not saying that conceitedly, I just mean, it's like being on vacation and coming home and your family says this is not your room anymore or something. We have a different player in Brad (Miller), but every day playing with him I feel like I know him better, and playing better with him. I do have to get the feel back of things like that, but for the most part I feel comfortable, and my thing is to just be myself and play my game, and we'll be ok. I know I have the best shooter in the league on the team, I know I have the best point guard in the league on the team, two of the best centers on the team, so just be yourself and play and let things come.

InsideHoops.com: Does the West feel more wide open this year than in the past?

Chris Webber: The West feels wide open as far as anyone can win it, yeah. It's tight. You look at this, I wouldn't want to be the 4-5 series, or the 3-6 series, any series is going to be tough, but those especially. It's wide open for anybody, which is going to make your concentration level get up. There's going to be some upsets in the first round this year, so you need to be focused.
